Who we are & What we do
I am Gurpreet Gulati, Founder of IP Caravan. With more than 17 years of experience in intellectual property matters, I established IP Caravan with the objective of providing legal services in the field of intellectual property to startups, D2C brands, manufacturers, exporters, and businesses in India.
At IP Caravan, we provide legal assistance across various areas of intellectual property. This includes:
- Trademarks – protection for brand names, logos, taglines and other identifiers
- Patents – protection for inventions, processes and technical developments
- Copyright – protection for original literary, artistic, and digital works
- Industrial Designs – protection for the visual appearance or shape of products
- Trade Secrets – safeguarding confidential business information
We assist with filings in India and, where applicable, in other jurisdictions, along with brand monitoring, intellectual property audits, and legal advisory in accordance with applicable laws.
In the area of patents, we assist clients through patent searches using relevant databases, including Indian and international sources. This includes novelty searches, freedom-to-operate searches, and landscape studies. We also provide general inputs based on available information to assist in understanding patentability requirements such as novelty, inventive step, and industrial applicability.
We also assist clients in matters relating to intellectual property disputes. This includes proceedings relating to trademark, patent, copyright, and industrial design matters, including oppositions, rectifications, and related proceedings before appropriate authorities. Such matters may be handled before District Courts, High Courts, and other forums as per applicable jurisdiction.
We further assist clients in mediation and arbitration in intellectual property-related matters, in accordance with applicable legal procedures.

Gurpreet Gulati is an Advocate having a work experience of 17 years, her expertise lies in Intellectual Property Rights. Having worked for major international brands from around the world, she has diverse experience in advising businesses on Intellectual property matters. Before founding IP Caravan, Gurpreet worked with React-the anti-counterfeiting network in a leadership role. She has also worked with Eminent IP Law firms like Ranjan Narula Associates and Fidus Law Chambers. While working for some of the top brands in React, she also had the opportunity of understanding the brand owner’s issues and working closely with them.
